JAPANESE maker Sumitomo has released a new 16t class excavator to the Australian market which is an addition to the new Dash 5 Series.
The SH160-5 has new livery in keeping with the SH210-5, SH240-5 and SH300-5 models. It features a Tier 3 Isuzu engine which develops 89.2 kW @ 2,200 rpm with a common rail and pressurised fuel injection system, new work modes for greater fuel efficiency and a new hydraulic oil flow control for increased pump efficiency.
The new excavator boasts stronger boom and arm, ridged upper side frame with improved undercarriage components for longer wear life. The fuel tank has been increased to 300 litres and the larger cabin incorporates the new KAB 825 reclining suspension, auto air conditioning and pressurised cabin with lower in-cab operational noise levels.
This model, available through BT Equipment , comes standard with a 2.62m dipper arm, 63m3 bucket, 500 mm grouser shoes with an option for 600 mm or 700 mm shoes.
